I am a home improvement contractor and I only buy tools that make sense for me in the work I do, they must also have the quality and be built for daily use.
I found this saw (didn't know one existed..10.5amp)because I needed a low amp draw saw to run off my small (2500 watt) portable gas generator. Your typical 15 amp saws have a higher initial draw that trips the circuit breaker on my small generator. This Makita 10.5 amp works for me. As far I know this is the only 7 1/2" saw that only pulls 10.5 amps. It has plenty of power to make rip and cross cuts in any type of wood. The other plus..it is very quiet and light with very good handling at a price you can't beat. If I had to I would buy another one.....5 stars for this saw!

A nice light saw, much easier to use overhead or cutting siding ion the wall. Adjustment is primitive- but light. Blade guard hangs up a bit. The first time I dropped it, the plate came out of line with the blade, and the second time, the blade guard cracked front and rear where the plate mounts. I might buy another because the mag is clunky, but the price is high. 5007nk is a better buy
