5.0 out of 5 stars First Class Product
This is a simple to use, highly effective battery charger. It is far superior to the original charger that came with the Makita drill I purchased over 11 years ago. I thought that my old Makita NiCad stick batteries could no longer hold a charge after so many years of great service. To my surprise, they are once again holding a full charge after being inserted into this...

This is a simple to use, highly effective battery charger. It is far superior to the original charger that came with the Makita drill I purchased over 11 years ago. I thought that my old Makita NiCad stick batteries could no longer hold a charge after so many years of great service. To my surprise, they are once again holding a full charge after being inserted into this replacement Makita charger. Wow. Talk about a small miracle! I'll be able to enjoy my Makita drill for many years to come. Nice. I wish I had purchased this little marvel prior to buying a replacement set of Makita NiCads - oh well, now I have four batteries!

Bottom line: If you're considering a replacement battery charger for your Makita cordless device that uses stick style batteries, look no further. Highly recommeded.

I've used this unit to charge Makita 14.4V pod-style NiMH and NiCads -- so far works just fine. Normally it's best to buy something like this as part of a package -- I needed a replacement for an old 14.4 NiCad charger and this unit had the ability to charge those types as wellas the newer NiMH types.

I have a Makita 6011D drill that has seen lots use and is still a strong reliable drill. When the charger that came with it quit working, I was upset, but I rigged up a different charging device so that I could continue to use it. Before long it seemed as if the batteries were no longer able to hold a charge. When I found this charger for such a great price, I decided I had to have it. It's nice too that it will charge several different sized batteries whether stick or the newer style and NiMH batteies also. But I perfer the nicads because they can tolerate more abuse in my experience.

Batteries that I had given up on are now holding a charge after using the new charger. It has made my drill seem like a new one again. So glad I found this charger. It does a better job than the original Makita DC1290A which I assume was made in Japan. I priced one of them once, and they were quite expensive. The new one is made in China, but I have nothing but praise for it thus far.

After bounce testing the charger that came in the kit, i needed a charger fast! Went to the "big boxes" and they wanted $80.00 for the same charger so i came home and searched the internet and found this. Even with FREE shipping it was at my front door in no time. I use my drill and flashlight quite often at work so i need a good charger and this is it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makita Battery Charger DC1804, April 11, 2011
This review is from: Makita DC1804 7.2-Volt to 18-Volt Pod Style and Stick Style 3-Hour Battery Charger (Tools & Home Improvement)
Exactly what I order, perfect shape.
Came in retail package not blister pack. Not really important to me unless it states it in the description.
Not a scratch on the charger.

Difference in taking a chance buying a used one verses a new, was less than ten dollars on a sixty dollar item.
I have a 1/3 cost savings rule if I am going to take a chance on a used item.
I might have consider saving the ten bucks if anyone selling them "used" would offer a 30 day guarantee against DOA etc. When you read the fine print the seven day guarantee offered on the used ones starts when they ship or even when the billing is completed ie they get paid.
Well it takes four to five days (unless you pay big bucks for shipping, which then defeats the ten dollar savings) to arrive and I am not always at home when stuff arrives. Been there done that, seller's attitude was "sorry you should have read our return policy before buying".

Suffice to say, I tend to do business with sellers that have the least amount of gotcha's in the fine print. We all have to protect ourselves in this every changing world, but there is a difference. I find the sellers that will do the right thing when something goes wrong (reading feedback of those that have had a problem) are the sellers with the least amount of gotcha's in the fine print.

If you have the OLD style Makita cordless 12v drill just laying there dead...buy this charger and you'll be back in business!
I received this charger in less than the estimated time and within a couple of hours my drill was working again. I shopped all over the internet and this was the best price delivered. If you are in the market for a universal Makita Battery Charger and are reading this review..STOP... Just Order...you'be happy you did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Problem solved, December 25, 2008
This review is from: Makita DC1804 7.2-Volt to 18-Volt Pod Style and Stick Style 3-Hour Battery Charger (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have a Makita cordless drill that I just love. I have used it many, many hours and thought that the batteries were wore out. I bought a new battery and within a week it was dead too. I then bought this charger and lo and behold, all three of my batteries are now working great and holding power as they were designed too. If you think you need new batteries, you probably just need a new charger as I did. Thanks Amazon!

Works very well as a replacement for the original "quick charge" device. Takes longer but that can be managed. Brought new life to my old batteries and kept me from buying a new drill.
