Powerhouse of a grinder!,

This review is from: Makita 9564PC 4-1/2-Inch Angle Ginder with Paddle Switch (Tools & Home Improvement)
As a welder/fabricator, grinding is not my favorite part of any job. This grinder makes things go a little quicker. It has a LOT of power for its size and has very little vibration. Doesn't get real hot like some of the cheaper brands that I have had in the past. Nice soft start feature and the SJS feature is also helpful. Overall, this tool makes less WORK for me, and I like that. My first 4 1/2 in Makita lasted 11 years...then I bought the "yellow brand" at a big box hardware and it lasted 1 1/2 years. Going back to Makita was a no brainer!*UPDATE* Bought in March of 2010 and here it is November 2011 and I have used and abused this grinder and it has not skipped a beat. I have been through literally hundreds of grinding wheels and not one complaint. Though, the soft start takes a little (very little) getting used to. The appearance at this point makes the grinder look 10 years old but it performs like new. I will keep updating until it dies...if it dies!

This grinder is exactly what I was searching for. Millwaukee just doesn't make grinders like they used too, and Metabo, even though they are highly ranked and priced, just didn't have what I wanted in a grinder. The soft start takes a bit to get use to, but the overall design and power makes this an almost perfect tool. Also, the price I aquired it at was very reasonable.
