The BST221 will drive 1/4-, 3/8-, 1/2-, 9/16-, 5/8-, 3/4-, and 7/8-inch length staples (3/8-inch crown); and will also utilize Arrow T50 type staples for maximum versatility. The easy-to-use depth control setting can be adjusted with a single knob. The rugged machined aluminum magazine ensures smooth loading and feeding of staples, with a convenient window on the magazine that shows the number of remaining staples.

Ergonomic Design in a Compact Size

The Makita BST221 is a hand saver for sure!! i use it to affix low voltage phone/data cabling to walls. The battery is very powerful and a person can run this tool all day on a single one of the 18v lithium batteries. When a charge is required the supplied fast charger is lighting fast! In the past i used a squeeze staple and can attest that after a few thousand staple through a squeeze stapler your palm will swell up and also the mechanical staplers cause blisters on the fingers you use to exert pressure against the handle.
I have installed literally thousands of staples out of the BST221 in one day with not even a battery change and it causes zero strain on your hands.
The fact that this unit is coming with two battery packs means this stapler is designed to put in a seriously long workday, longer than it's operator could muster on a pair of battery charges.
Also has an integrated safety that prevents unintended accidental discharge which is good because those staples come out with a LOT of force, this safety does NOT hinder the useage of this item in the least.
