Makita DK1021BL 18 Volt Drill, Circular Saw, Reciprocating Saw, and Flashlight Mega-Combo Kit

I sold my DeWalt system 2 months after I bought the Makita system. It blows DeWalt clean out of the water because it is 2.2 AH and DeWalt is still a measly 1.7 which translates to longer run time. Also the Nickel-Metal-Hydride batteries mean you don't have to keep the trigger pulled when the battery is low and wait for it to run all the way down. You just pop it in the charger whenever you want because there is no memory. How is anybody going to top this outfit?

I've used DeWalt and Milwaukee cordless tools in the past and have found that Makita is by far the most tool for the money. I needed a new Sawzall and wanted to get a cordless one and Makita finally came out with theirs which is a WINNER. I've had this combo for about 2 months and have had nothing but good things to say about it.

This outfit represents outstanding quality for the money. The 18 volt drill weighs the same as my DeWalt 12 volt with more power. I used every tool in this kit while remodeling a room and never tripped over an extension cord. I ripped a 1x4 into 3 pieces perfectly with the circular saw. Like cutting butter. The most amazing thing to me is the light weight and compact size of the tools in the case, but with all that power. Just amazing!

I was the owner of a 18 volt makita saw and drill combo until some rotten individual stole the best cordless combo kit I've ever used in my 13 years of using cordless tools. So I want to thank you whoever you are, cause now I have an excuse to buy this larger kit. These Makita tools blow dewalt's stuff away. I would recommend these to anyone who is a contractor and uses his tools every day to make a living. They are very powerful and durable. When I would pull out my kit at a jobsite, everybody wanted to put the dewalts on the shelf.

This is absolutly the best kit out there. The 2 saws are things that you might not think would be all that useful, but once you have them, you find you'll use them all the time. I've had my makita 14.4 forever, and this kit continues in that fine tradition. The kit blows all the De Walt stuff i've used out of the water. Absolutly the best.

Am upping my previous review to a full 5 stars after doing a significant amount of framing. This kit has become the most useful thing in my workshop. Am always amazed at the tools running at full power right up to the moment they run out of juice, and then how quickly the battery recharges. Am especially impressed with how useful a good cordless circular saw is.

About to embark on finishing our basement, and decided to try this kit instead of the old corded assortment I've got. Very satified, every item is rugged and powerful. Charger is quick, always have another battery at the ready when the one in use goes. They're a bit on the heavy side, which is good as that seems to reflect their quality and sturdiness, but can seem a little tiring, for example, holding the drill at a weird angle for an extended period.

The carrying case is fine for just these tools, but I find myself also wanting to keep my drill bits and a few other odds and ends with the tools in the case. There is room, but they just flop around inside, no real accessory compartments. Would have gotten 5 stars if the case were just a bit more useful.

I recently purchased the Dewalt 18 volt set. Upon using it the first time I was very unsatisfied with the battery life of the Dewalt. I started doing some research and found the Makita 18 volt set with the Ni-mh battery instead of the Ni-cd. I purchased the Makita set and upon taking it out of the box I could tell by the quality that it was a better built tool than the Dewalt was. Having both sets in front of me this was very easy to tell. The battery lasted longer than the Dewalt set did. I would highly recommend the Makita set over the Dewalt set to anyone that would ask, even though it is a little bit more expensive. The extra money is well worth the quality that you get.

Wow! This Makita cordless kit is just terrific. The tools are powerful yet quiet and light. Plus the ergonomic designs are very thoughtfully done. The new technology batteries hold a charge longer too. My DeWalt 18volt tools do not approach the quality and performance of this new Makita line up. Thanks Makita for building great tools.
