The saw has a no-load speed of 1,400 rpm with depth adjustment, a bevel capacity of 0-45 degrees, and a maximum cutting depth of 1 inch (90 degrees) and 5/8 inch (45 degrees). Makita's LCT208W also includes an ultra-compact Two-Speed Driver-Drill (model FD02W) with a Makita-built motor that delivers 200 inch-pounds of Max Torque with two speed settings (0-350/0-1,300 rpm), variable speed and 18 clutch stages for a range of drilling and driving applications. drill/driver- I find myself reaching for this more often than a regular screwdriver. The small size lets you be very precise and the light is an absolute bonus. I had no problems screwing 3" screws into 2x4's. It has plenty of torque and great battery life.
circular saw- blade spins with more torque than sheer rpm's than I expected. My major use for this saw was cutting tons of hardwood lath frome a home rehab into shorter pieces for my wood-burner. My other use is drywall. I can cut and notch areas with ease and be more precise than I can with a rotary-type tool. Also worked well with tile backer board. The small size and light weight come in handy. Only thing I'd like is more rpm's but I can't really complain as it does what it's supposed to. Ripping sheeting while on a roof?- of course not. Being a good all-around saw that is easy to handle and replaces a hand saw?- exactly!
The complaints i saw when buying this product were that the batteries were hard to remove. Overall, this is a very minor issue. Its a plastic clip that will get weaker over time. I havent had any issues with it. I would highly recommend this product for someone looking for a small set with a drill and circular saw.
