Product Description

From the Manufacturer

The new MAC700KIT-Hotdog compressor (with AF503 2 Brad Nailer) by Makita is blowing away the competition with built-in features such as a super quiet motor that draws only 12.4 amps to operate. It's easy to see how this unit will out last and out perform everyone else in its class with 3.3CFM @ 90PSI and a lever handled ball valve drain system that will get rid of any condensation build up in the tank. The exclusive finned discharge tubing increases heat dissipation that reduces moisture in the lines and the easily removable cast iron cylinder reduces wear and increases pump life. The heavy duty roll cage construction provides extra protection against the harsh jobsite environments. Packed with our popular AF503 2 Brad Nailer, 25' Hose, fittings and nails, this kit includes everything needed to get started.

5.0 out of 5 stars High Quality Kit, December 21, 2005

Came time to finish the lower level of our house and needed one of these gems to get the job done. Initially looked at the Porter Cable CFFN240N but without an oil lubricated pump there was no way I would have that thing running inside my house (Way too Loud). Makita came through big time when they introduced this machine, I can have the thing running next to me and keep a conversation going on my cell phone with no problem. Besides that the CFM on this baby is impressive for its size. 3.3CFM @90PSI. Make sure you note that it is rated at 90PSI because a lot of the other manufacturers rate on a 100PSI level. Best way to buy this is in the kit configuration where you get the brad nailer, hose, fittings, and fasteners for not much more money. This way everything comes to you in one package. If you are looking for a small compact compressor that has the capacity of the medium sized units, this is the one. Don't forget the noise level!!

I'm pleased with the Makita MAC700KIT 2 HP Air Compressor Kit I purchased from Amazon.com. I did a fair amount of research and was tempted to purchase a Porter-Cable oil-free kit, but after borrowing a Craftsman (same as Porter-Cable)oil-free compressor from a friend, I decided to go with the oil lubricated Makita primarily because the unit is much quieter but also because I'm convinced the oil-based units have a longer life span. I'm in the finishing stage of installing hardwood floors. I started the Makita unit (after the required 20 minute lubrication "break-in") and asked my wife what she thought about the noise level. "Not to bad since it's outside", she said, the only problem was, it was inside house in the next room over. The oil-free unit sounds like a jack hammer. I recommend the Makita unit, but it took a about 10 days to arrive, so if you want it earlier, pay extra for the shipping.

4.0 out of 5 stars quiet and effective, March 2, 2006

I bought the MAC700Kit and am using it to trim out my entire home. The AF503 nailer with 18 guage brads is great for baseboards and quarter round. The only reason this doesn't rate a 5 is that it arrived with the plastic oil cap broken. Appears to have been broken at the factory as it was well packaged.
