5.0 out of 5 stars Good, Dependable Light
I bought this light to replace one that I had for almost 20 years now. They really hold up good under all kinds of conditions. I used mine for doing auto repair. Dropped it many times on the ground and even in buckets of water, antifreeze, oil and gasoline- keeps on going. The light bulb does tend to burn out if dropped a couple of times though. I think I fixed this...

After 3 weeks of use this light it is falling apart. The plastic used for the case of the light cracks very easily. Pieces keep breaking off. It has not ever had a major fall. The batteries are even worse. My battery had a small fracture, I pulled it out of the charger one day and it crumbled in my hands. I am very dissapointed in this product and have no respect at...

Dropped it many times on the ground and even in buckets of water, antifreeze, oil and gasoline- keeps on going. The light bulb does tend to burn out if dropped a couple of times though. I think I fixed this problem by installing an aftermarket LED bulb. It is not as bright but the battery lasts longer and the bulb is more shock resistant.

I am very dissapointed in this product and have no respect at all for Makita products. It would be expected that makita products would be better than they were 10 years ago, but they are far from it. There is no quality to this light it is a complete rip off. I had to cover the whole thing batteries and light in JB weld to try to save them. I thought the high price was for quality but I was wrong. If I could give this a lower rating than a 1 I would. I urge everyone not to purchase this flashlight. I am sure it is the same with the 14.4 and 18 volts, they seem to use the same material for everything.
