This 2-1/4 hp D-handle router from Makita is one of the quietest, 81dB, and lowest vibration routers in their class. Its electronic speed control maintains constant speed even under load for smooth routing. The rugged aluminum motor housing has a small 3-1/4-inch diameter, a sub-base that accepts industry standard template guides, and a durable flat top for stability when changing bits. It features soft start for smooth start-up, and an industrial cam-lock for fast and easy depth adjustment and removal of motor. Your purchase includes a 1/4- and 1/2-inch collet and collet wrenches.

Quiet 2-1/4-horsepower Makita router. Yes, it says quiet. According to Makita, their new RD1100 series routers are the quietest in their class at 81 decibels. (That's quiet, but you should still wear hearing protection.) These routers are available in variable speed, with a range of 8,000 to 24,000 rpm, and have a soft start. Without the soft start, the powerful 11 amp, 2-1/4-horsepower router could wrench itself out of your hands. Another excellent feature is the electronic speed control. As you push the router to take a more aggressive cut, or it hits harder material, the speed control kicks in to maintain consistent rpm at the bit. Two base styles are available: D-handle (shown) or the traditional two-knob base. The RD series' motors are interchangeable with either base. Both 1/4- and 1/2-inch collets come with the router. You change bits using two wrenches. These babies are brand new.
