4.0 out of 5 stars good for the money
No, it's not high-quality material but it casts and it catches fish. After several throws I did notice it starts to come apart at places, but if you're casting in sand or muddy areas you should be better off than I am (cast in/near gravel, rip-rap.

3.0 out of 5 stars "Good"
Its a good quality net easy to handle the weights are durable. The only problem I
have is the hand line's quality is not so good the nylon frays pretty easily and then it can give you
little cuts.

1.0 out of 5 stars This net certainly is for suckers., September 13, 2011
This review is from: Mako Bait Casting Net: 3/8" Sq. Mesh (Misc.)
Yes, that 7-ft Mako net, formerly called the "Sucker" certainly is for suckers.

18 braille lines on a 7 ft net (not to mention there are actually 20 holes on the top ring, so this net was not even strung correctly).

Yeah, THIS SUCKER DOES NOT EVEN CLOSE.

Braille lines are the heavy-weight mono filiment lines which run from the ring at the top and are tied down onto the rope along the bottom where the weights are. Not enough braille lines, the net will does not hold to the bottom, and as you pull it in, water (and fish) flow out through gaps between the lines.

On top of that, when you pull this net up out of the water, there's at least a 12" gap where the net does not actually close. It's like dunking your hand to pick something up, but not closing your fingers.

I fish in the exact same spot just about every day (off my dock) since 2004. Got one of these for my b-day a couple of days ago, and caught more fish in my old one, which has a 3-ft rip in the netting along the weight line. LOL

Don't buy one of these Makos unless you just throw a net for general exercise.
