Mako Mossberg 500/590 Handguards with 3 Rails

I got this tri-rail slide to mount a laser/light combo and a folding vertical grip. I did not want to mount the laser/light on the top of the receiver, so I can acquire targets with the barrel bead AND/OR the laser.

TIP: If you want to save $50-$60, you can salvage the aluminum internal slide tube from your existing factory slide, instead of buying a new one. There is a YouTube video showing how to remove the inner aluminum tube from the exterior polycarbonate slide. It is not the easiest thing to do, but with some patience and tenaciousness, it can be done:

I mounted the laser/light combo on the right rail of the slide, to avoid being directly behind them. The folding vertical grip attached to the bottom rail works great with it.

This forend is AWESOME! It's well constructed, functional and sturdy. Other reviews claim that it,"wiggles around," on the magazine tube. This is true, but negligible, in my opinion, when firing a shotgun. And to be honest, when I got my Mossberg 500 Persuader home, I immediately changed the forend and don't recall if the stock forend moved. Nonetheless, I'm extremely pleased with the product. The worst thing about the purchase was removing the stock forend. My suggestion is to use the Youtube videos availble for removal procedures...they help. I spent about 15 minutes removing mine. Again, for reference, I have the Mossberg 500 Persuader with 20" barrel, purchased from Big 5. I added the UTG Ambi Foldable Tactical Foregrip with 5 Adjustable Positions with this product. The Mako fits just like the stock forend and has no problems with clearance or fitment. It looks stock, but gives it that tactical edge for mounting flashlights and foldable grips. Highly recommended. Arrived when promised.

This is a real nice forend... sturdy and looks really good. It didn't get 4 stars from me because it did not fit my brand new Mossberg 500 (fowl and security combo) purchased July 2011. I'd heard Mossberg changed things up and older model forends won't fit the new model guns but the reviews went back and forth so I took a chance.

Some creative use of a chisel to remove the ribs from the inside, rear allowed the forend to slide far enough back so that I could get the nut on to secure it (I also bought that extension nut reviewers mention, but it didn't work here because the forend actually covers the threads). Now it fits snug and looks great... very happy with it.

If you have a Mossberg 500 built after 2006, or have a plastic forend, your gun does not have a action slide tube. This product requires a slide action tube to install. Plan on spending another fifty dollars or more on a slide action tube to get this to work unless you have a wooden forend. Once the product has been installed, it works well, but it is kind of obsolete. They should have included an adapter for those of us with newer guns. Although it is not listed in the product description, for the price, I expected an adapter. Therefore, this product is not a good value.

this product is well made BUT as it slides along the barrel there is was to much play due to the cutout is cut way to large would not recommend this item . not giving up though when I have time i will try to correct the problem

Excellent product, very easy to install on my new Mossberg 500 Cruiser during upgrade process. Have vertical grip and side mounted tatical lights on it working well. Good buy. Good company.

I couldn't be happier with the Mako handguard with 3 rails. The quality is above par, incredibably solid in build and use. Dealers sometimes won't carry these due to higher cost compaired to others foregrips, but u can see why they cost more, they're worth it!! Amazon prices r far better then market price too. The foregrip is great, and again I couldn't be happier.

I didn't purchase purchase this item on amazon.com but I do have it on a 590. I would highly recommend this product. It is very sturdy and well made and I have no doubt that it will last many more years of shooting heavy loads and slugs. The rails are great and make it very easy to attach accessories. Well worth the money, GET IT!! You wont regret it plus it has a lifetime warranty from Mako. O_o

This forend went on my Mossberg 500 Persuader after changing the stock slide with an after-market action slide tube. The forend is great, the slide tube SUCKS. Has a lot of "roll" from side- to- side. Make sure your Mossy has the 2 PIECE SLIDE assembly and not the 1 piece before ordering. If you DO have the 1- piece go ahead and order a 7 5/8 inch action slide tube at the same time.

Awesome handguard, I look forward to adding more to it now. Product is great!!! It just did not arrive within the specified time that was given. However, very satisfied with product!!!
