4.0 out of 5 stars Mako Shark Dive Knife
Better than expected for what I paid. I have had two people notice my knife, say they had the same one, and that they have had it for years and love it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Inexpensive but useless
There is nothing wrong with the knife itself. The problem lies in the locking mechanism that holds the knife in the sheath. 1.0 out of 5 stars Inexpensive but useless, November 8, 2010

There is nothing wrong with the knife itself. The problem lies in the locking mechanism that holds the knife in the sheath. To remove the knife from the sheath, you must push a release with one hand while pulling the knife with the other. Even with two hands, freeing the knife from the sheath is difficult. If you grasp the knife in the normal way, with your fingers around the handle, it won't come out of the sheath. You have to grasp the handle by the edges with your fingertips and push inward. This combined with the extreme force required to push the release button makes this knife almost useless. If you need the knife in a hurry and are even a little stressed, it will be a major struggle to free it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rusted after one dive, April 7, 2011

The knife rusted after just one dive. It is not just surface rust, the blade actually became pitted after just a few dives due to the rust. It is definitely low quality stainless steel and should not be advertised for marine use. This knife may be a decent knife is you only intend to use it on dry ground.

Good knife but the handle is hard to hold on to. I added a landyard so it doesn't get lost. But I would still recommend this as a good option.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do NOT Buy, November 18, 2011
This review is from: Mako Shark Dive Knife with Leg Strap Sheath (Misc.)
Strap broke first time I used it. Knife rusted before I left ocean after 3 hrs spearfishing. Knife extremely hard to get out of sheath. Spend a little more and you won't have a piece of trash to throw away after first use. Sorry I waited over a month before I used it. Would have sent it back. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS CRAP !!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent for the price, September 12, 2011

Ordered this not expecting the greatest knife in the world. The knife has a semi sharp edge nothing near razor sharp but it has potential with some work. The sheath is a hard plastic and the release button is anything but perfect but it works. It is for sure a case of getting what you pay for, but good news is if it chips breaks or gets lost I wont have to cry about losing 100 bucks

I was looking for a knife to attach to my leg when fishing - this dive knife was perfect. The clasp takes some getting used to, it holds the knife in place so getting it out quickly may be a problem but otherwise great product.
