EXCITING LENA LOOKS BACK!,

First of all I must confess that I have not seen the film and this is the first time I listen to Lena. My only references to this material are the original recordings by the legendary La Lupe and I doubted that any vocalist would ever be able to do justice to these songs of love and despair which were La Lupe's bread and butter. Previous attempts by Yolanda Luke or India left me cold and even a bit upset... How dare they? Don't they know that La Lupe is unbeatable?
Well I'm happy to report that Lena in La Mala gets my seal of approval. Not that her interpretations surpasses in any way the originals but I am impressed by her fresh new approach to the material and how she adds a totally different dimension which never lets you miss the Queen of Latin Soul. This is quite an accomplishment by such a young vocalist. Bravo for Lena! I will be watching her from now on...

This is a work of art. Lena sings La Lupe' songs like a goddess. And the two themes composed by herself are excellent too. I can't wait to see the movie. I've heard she is a very good actress too.

She is a TOTAL revelation!!! Oh my God!! if you haven't buy this CD do so.
I've heard little about Lena, but when I first saw her in the movie I couldn't believe it. Please, watch the movie and buy this cd. You'll remember this feedback, this girl is kicking hard!! |
