Product Description

A mala is a Buddhist rosary -- a string of beads used to count mantra recitations or other devotional practices. Beginning with the large tassled Buddha bead (which isn't counted), circle the mala until the Buddha bead is reached again. The next set is counted in reverse order. The beads of this sandalwood mala are made from exceptionally high quality wood with a fine, pure fragrance. Sandalwood has been used for thousands of years in devotional rituals and for decoration. This mala, with the traditional 108 beads, is perfect as a support to your meditation practice or as a decorative item in its own right.
