His invaluable compositions and performances cover an entire range of provocative melodies honed throughout his formative years to his delicate balancing of flamenco and classical guitar to the Latin and jazz influences that listeners ... Editorial Reviews

Music lovers will be inspired by Armik's Malaga, the guitarist's fourth album. On previous albums Armik created a potent new strain of flamenco dubbed 'Latin-gypsy-jazz'. He refines that sound placing additional emphasis on the rhythm while introducing new instruments to the melodic fold.

Customer Reviews

I highly recommend it for all Flamenco lovers.
Colette Martinez
A very passionate song with the tune pleading with Armik's signature romanctic fervour.

I first heard a couple of tracks by Armik last year in a mixed collection CD called somewhat like Best World Instrumentals or so. I had never heard of this man before. I noted the good guitar play and arrangement, and six months later I came across a complete album by Armik. I took the risk to buy it and never had a chance to regret. This music is especially good to share with romantically oriented women. It will really support you when you're working overseas in remote desert locations lacking of normal entertainment. I shared my thoughts with my colleagues and was surprised to find out that many people appreciate Armik. And I was lucky to hear more Armik's albums. Many thanks, Mr. Armik

Malaga is my second Armik experience. A full circuit after hearing Gypsy Flame. The music stirs my true being. Armik touches the the part of man that has no physical dimension; it touches the spiritual essence of existence; that part of beauty that shall never perish. Grasping, squeezing, caressing, and releasing the emotions most deftly. A whistful mental journey along the corridors of time and space ; eternity and nothingness. My collection is just about complete. Thank You Armik

This album sees more orchestral support for Armik. In particular, the piano and the Spanish accordian have been used beautifully in Romantic Souls and Isle Of The Sun respectively.
The title track is a lively song with clear Spanish overtones although Armik's personal style is unmistakable as well.
The second track is Romantic Souls which is a big favourite of mine. The beauty of the tune is simply heart-rending. The romance in the song is almost tangible.
Romantic Souls is a very catchy tune and most people fall in love with it the moment they hear it for the first time.
Andalucia La Luna has a very flamenco beginning but soon Armik steps in with his trademark lilting melody.
Reflections Of Paradise is a relatively slower track with a slow beat.
It reminds me of For Your Eyes and Meet You In Heaven, the two beautiful tracks from Gypsy Flame, Armik's second Album.
Memories Of Mallorca is another masterful song with flamenco rhythms. The tune is lively and makes you snap your fingers.
Ritmos Flamenco is undoubtedly one of the best tracks of the album. A very passionate song with the tune pleading with Armik's signature romanctic fervour.
Fire Dance returns with a swift beat and takes you for a walk on the wild rainforests of Amazon.
Cartas De Amor starts off with the sad, sustained notes of a keyboard and the beat is so well-woven with the tune that with every single thump of it, it tends to break your heart in two.
This track can be grouped with Reflections of Paradise for its similar style and slower tempo.
Pacifico is like having a walk on the beach.
It is refreshing and uplifting.
As the song progresses, the tempo picks up reaching dizzying heights.

The tight rhythms and riffs are nothing short of amazing. The music is written and played like a finely tuned racing machine with a heart and soul.

Armik is the best guitarist in the world. His undeniable and incomparable talent is evident in his six albums. His style is wonderfully unique. You'll find flavors of Flamenco in his style, but overall his music is much better than Flamenco. The warmth and passion in his melodies along with his MAGICAL guitar playing techniques & his Golden touch are not found in any other styles or artists.
All of Armik's albums are excellent & they are treasured in everyone's collection.
MALAGA IS FANTASTIC.

I own several Armik discs, many more by the masters of flamenco and all it's variances and find that Armik does have a deserving niche on the flamenco market. His technical abilities are very good, some might even say dazzling and on this disc you can be the judge yourself as it is represenative of his abundant catalogue. I only own two or three of his discs because the music tends to sound very similar; if you have a successful formula stick to it I guess. If you are a purist than stay away; this disc is anomalous to what you prefer. If you like pop flamenco that is jazz inspired as well, with a world music sound thrown in for flavor than this disc is for you. If you like Esteban, Strunz and Farah, Ottmar Liebert or Jesse Cook than you will love this. Some songs are more "authentic"(but unlike the real deal) than others like "Andalucia La Luna," "Ritmos Flamenco" and "Toreros" but the Armik sound prevails for a popish flamenco sound ; this is not a bad thing, it is just different. Personally I enjoy this disc very much and include songs on my flamenco playlists for my I-Pod. It is a good contrast to various other styles that stands on it's own ground. If you like beautiful, furious fast fret work with a flamenco edge than this is for you.

I heard Malaga while on vacation in Virginia City, NV and fell in love with it. I just ordered his other 3 CD's. I play it at work and everyone comments "Where can I get that?"
