With Malamarismo, it feels like La Mala has finally come into her own - she has ditched the flamenco flavor and the result is a sound that is totally unique. The rhythms are complex, the lyrics are clever, the synths (when used) are warm, and her voice is still incredible. To those looking to find something a little different than the generic garbage from Hollywood, I can't recommend this highly enough. This is by far my favorite CD of 2007. Standout tracks include Dejame Entra, Memorias Del Futuro, and Menos Tu.

Haciendo malabarismos con las palabras,
This review is from: Malamarismo (Audio CD)
La Mala's 3rd work in her long list of excellent albums is undoubtedly impressive, but definitely not her best.Malamarismo is unique and takes on a more American flavor with a lot of the production originating from the United States, still, this album remains truly Mala with clever lyrics that will provoke you to think and question what La Mala is trying to put forth. Stand out tracks would have to be Volveré, Te Convierto, Por la Noche, Memorias del Futuro, Caída Libre, Enfermo, and Miedo. Some of the tracks seem a bit misplaced on the album, songs like Tiempo Pá Pensar seemed more like an afterthought to put on the album and not something that pertained to the original theme. Overall you are not going to get much better than La Mala when it comes to Spanish hip hop. She's no 2pac or Biggie Smalls, but could be compared to the Spanish, female version of Lupe Fiasco. La Mala remains one of the best MCs in the world and definitely the best female MC to ever grace the stage.

Like always her music have amazing beats, with amazing lyrics and perfect flow. I would say, she is best latino female rapper. Her style is a great combination of latin beats, combined with lyrics that have deep meaning, makes you fall into the flow of the music, feeling conected with lyrics. Shortly said well done, La Mala Rodriguez; keep up the good work.

Great Album - But Not Her Best Work,
By
This review is from: Malamarismo (Audio CD)
This is the first album that Mala dropped since signing to Machete music, and it's a bit of a departure from her older work. The beats on this album are geared more towards a mainstream audience, whereas her earlier albums had more of a Flamenco fusion in the production.
Most of the beats were produced by Griffi from Terrassa, Spain, and Nevada-based producer DJ Rectangle. The first single off of the album, Nanai, was a DJ Rectangle production, so the beats definitely have more of a U.S. feel. The best cut on the album is probably the bonus track, Por La Noche, which was produced by Spanish MC Supernafamacho. The lyrics are trademark Mala, so no complaints there. Overall this is a great album, but it's not quite the classic that Lujo Ibérico was.

I'm from Puerto Rico and we don't have many female rappers or hip-hop singers. La Mala is truly sensational, a very brave woman and a terrific artist! I love her music!

The dopest female MC on the planet,
By
This review is from: Malamarismo (Audio CD)
I read on some hip hop site that if Mala rapped in english and was from the US she'd be hailed as the dopest MC on the planet. I have to 100% agree.
There isn't a female rapper (that i've heard) in English or in Spanish that rhymes with such venom and such a great flow as Mala. She just speaks with authority. Further, I just love the fact she wears tight dresses, short skirts, is damn hot and still raps about respect... It's just believable. The women is hot and educated. I'm digging the old school hip hop beats, i'm digging her rapid fire delivery, i'm digging the guest stars on the album... it's just great. Standout tracks... "Te Convierto" with Raimundo Amador. I'm a flamenco man so for the uninitiated, Amador was a guitarist/singer for the legendary flamenco rock fusion groups Veneno and then Pata Negra. Full on old school beats on this one. with Amador playing some rock/blues guitar on it. It works. "Enfermo" with Tego Calderon. Tego is the best rapper in Reggaeton hands down. As usual he spits the truth and outshines Mala. Mala does justice and its no shame to be outdone by Tego. The fact is he's one of the best MC's on the planet in any language... period! And then I really dig Menos Tu, Caida Libre, La Loca... Nanai was the first single and the obvious commercial choice with it's American stylings a la Timbaland... it's ok, just not up to the other stuff. I can't wait for her next work.

Mala Rodriguez is not yet BIG ENOUGH to be a hit in the U.S. BUT she is big enough within the latino community and YET is HUGE in Spain as she is CONSIDERED a PIONEER for women in hip-hop as one of the few in the latin hip hop community. Since her first debut in 1999, Mala has come far to prove she has the chops to make it big! I remember first hearing her in the 'Scarface' PS2 video game when I was playing it and it caught my ear and yet I was bobbing my head to the funky rhythm of 'La Nina'
Hey best songs by far on this album is 'Nanai' (think of it as a hint of Timbaland beats with a catchy phrase saying in spanish 'look into my eyes do you want me to die, na-na-nai, I won't let you make me DIE!). Its as if she KNOWS of others that want to stop her in her tracks to stardom and the one with Tego Calderon (another fine reggaeton artist) on 'Enfermo'. Although she hasn't QUITE got that hook on what she is trying to state on her 3rd effort album, nonetheless, she is making a statement that she is here to stay and to get that respect not only as a WOMAN but also to the latin hip hop community.

Who is this h0? Eminem in woman style? LOL You got to be kidding. This rapper wanna be wants to be like the queen of rap in spanish but the CD is pure crap. She shares the mic with more crap like Tego Calderon ( 1 of the morons who brought reggaeton to the states ). My friend told me this was a good rap CD in spanish but is pure rubbish, keep your money or buy something from 2pac.
