We use the spray in between shampoos with Malaseb shampoo. My dog no longer is itching and smells better. This product is very effective.

3.0 out of 5 stars malesab spray for itch
The spray is somewhat sticky. Our female pet dog still scratches herself. Her skin is irritated in some areas. She has itch. The spray appears to sting her somewhat when applied. At least she walks quickly around the room after I spray her. Maybe it takes more time to be effective. Let's see what happens. Any suggestions? Thanks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yeast, October 20, 2007

I have had great results with this spray. My dog has allergies and is very prone to yeast. I used it to get rid of the yeast between the toes and pads of her feet and now use it once a week to prevent further yeast infections.

5.0 out of 5 stars A miracle product for animals, September 6, 2007

My poor dog was just about hairless and had such a terriable odor no one wanted to be near her. After the first shampoo and 2 weeks of treatment with the spray she had fur again, and the horriable odor was gone.I had spending hundreds of dollars at different vets, it was so bad for my dog I almost put her down to take her out of her misery.

Well worth a try

If your doggy has a musty, doggy oder, is itchy and begining to loose hair, your best bet is to use Malaseb Spray and Shampoo. My dog went for almost a year being misdiagnosed with all sorts of conditions and I spent thousands of dollars trying to figure it all out. At witts end I finally did a little reading and figured out he maybe suffering from yeast infection also known as "Canine Malassezia." Malaseb spray and shampoo are totally effective against this condition. As of 3 weeks in, his hair is growing back and itchyness had decreased dramatically. I highly recommend this as your first option, especially if there is an oder involved; that gives the condition away becase yest infections are rarely oderless.

5.0 out of 5 stars save your maoney and buy this!, August 17, 2010
This review is from: Malaseb Spray 8oz (Misc.)
For any possible bacterial or fungal (yeast) infections on animlas Malaseb is great!
It is colorless and has no perfume and works works works! I can't tell you how much money and suffering I have saved myself and pets by using this as directed whenever I suspect an infection on the body or ears. If you dog has chronis staph infections this is really helpful and will keep the problem in check.

I was interested to this line by my VET for my cocker Spaniel Candy. She battled chonic yeast and staph infections in her last few years of life on all over the body, in the ears and the cuticle of her toe nails. It did work every time and it did not seem to bother her at all. My vet suggested the spray as it is handy and easy to use anywhere even in her private areas and in her ears too.

NOTE! You will notice as the skin is healing that it will flake and peel. Sort of like a person who burns first and then tans. It's painless it just looks different and you may not expect this! What it is doing is healing the skin with the Vitamin E and allowing fresh healhy skin to replace the infected and then the hair will grow back.

Good luck and stay on top off these kinds of skin, feet and ear infections. Keep ears dry and clean and use this after they swim to prevent yeast infection in the ears.

I try to research alot and ask alot of questions to all people involved in the pet industry and it has saved me time, money and stress. More importantly it has alleviated all of the above for my dogs too.

Obviosuly it's always good to consult a VET but some of them just run u in circles and do not offer much hope.

They often tell people their dogs are allergic to food with no evidence to support it and no testing. So, if your dog is itching it could be allergies just like we get from plants and pollen etc.. and is likely to cause a secondary yeast or bacteria infection anyway so have this on hand. Actual food allergies are not as common as you think. Though every dog os different so it's good to let a doctor see them once a year or when in doubt.

This will help with secondary infections from hot spots, flea allergy which causes them to lick, scratch and bite themselves which causes an extra problem (infection)

Good luck everyone

Amy

4.0 out of 5 stars worth a try, December 16, 2008
This review is from: Malaseb Spray 8oz (Misc.)
I have a dog with hair loss along her flanks and the back of her legs. Thyroid test came back low but not bad enough to cause this much hair loss. She then began to loose hair around her neck and on her chest. My next step was to take her to a veterinary dermatologist over an hour away. Before spending who knows how much money with the dermatologist I decided to try some things on my own. I purchased the malaseb spray and shampoo. She was sprayed twice per day and washed twice per week. The hair has regrown on her neck and chest and may be coming back on her sides. It's hard to tell. I recommend trying these products. It couldn't hurt. The only down side is the skin on her chest became very dry. It peeled like it would on a human after a sunburn.

3.0 out of 5 stars Spray seems to cause kitten pain, November 11, 2008

This review is from: Malaseb Spray 8oz (Misc.)
I've used the shampoo and spray on a litter of kittens that had ringworm. The remaining kitten was the last to catch the ringworm. The shampoo is great, but be careful when using other medication products alongside or on the same day as the malaseb spray (such as lamisil cream); the ingredients can react and cause your animal a lot of pain. Cue kitty crying and walking backwards and shaking. Ugh. The malaseb spray used alone still does seem to cause discomfort to the kitty though. He will still run to the corner, squeak if touched, and hunch down for some time while going through the peeling process. I do think some animals can be sensitive to the product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Helps Combat Ringworm, August 4, 2007
This review is from: Malaseb Spray 8oz (Misc.)
After adopting a kitten who turned out to have ringworm, our dog contracted it as well. Our poor dog reacted badly to oral medications and the topical creams were working slowly. We started bathing our kitten and our dog in Malaseb 2x per week, and using the Malaseb spray 3x per day on the dog. We immediately noticed improvement in our cat after using Malaseb shampoo. She is healed up now and most of the fur on the lesion has grown back. Our dog ha s been improving dramatically since we started using the Malaseb spray. It's been almost 3 weeks and the lesions stopped growing and skin is starting to heal. I would highly recommend Malaseb spray and shampoo to any pet owners fighting the dreaded ringworm.
