4.0 out of 5 stars You'll need this for vinyl siding
This is almost a "got to have" tool for your vinyl siding job. It forms locking tabs on partial pieces of siding that have to be modified to fit areas on the house where a full piece is just too wide. Used with utility trim it forms a good positive lock.

This product is not a slot punch for ID badges. If it says "slot punch," do not be misled. It is actually a tool for aluminum siding or something like that. I bought this product to punch slots in some name tags, but since it won't do that I have no use for it at all.

THe Malco punch performs well. It has a nice grip to it and a sturdy feel in your hand. It was at a price well below the big box home improveent stores.

This tool works very well for locking vinyl siding into vinyl edging when the top edge of the vinyl has to be cut off, cutting off the nailing holes. The tool makes little tabs along the length of the siding that lock into the trim pieces, holding the siding in place.

4.0 out of 5 stars gets the job done, July 20, 2010

If you are a do-it-your-selfer, this tool will get the job done. There is no need to buy the more expensive version. All you are doing is punching holes in vinyl, and thats what it does. I suppose the only improvement to this tool would be somthing to hold it together for storage (so that it not always in an open position). But a rubber band works fine for that too.
