Book Description

November 1, 2011
In the past decade, Malcolm Gladwell has written three books that have radically changed how we understand our world and ourselves: The Tipping Point, Blink, and Outliers. Regarded by many as the most gifted and influential author and journalist in America today, Gladwell's rare ability to connect with audiences of such varied interests has ensured that each title become a phenomenal bestseller with more than ten million copies in print combined.

Now, Gladwell's landmark investigations into the world around us are collected together for the first time. Beautifully repackaged and redesigned, including for the first time illustrations throughout each book, MALCOLM GLADWELL: COMPLETE is a perfect treasury of prose and provocation for Gladwell fans old and new.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"In the vast world of nonfiction writing, Malcolm Gladwell is as close to singular talent as exists today." (New York Times Book Review )

"Gladwell's real genius is as a storyteller. He's like an omniscient, many-armed Hindu god of anecdotes: he plucks them from every imaginable human endeavor." (Time )

"The most original American journalist since the young Tom Wolfe...Nobody else writes the kind of stories he does, because nobody else thinks the way he does." (Baltimore Sun )

About the Author

Malcolm Gladwell has been a staff writer with The New Yorker magazine since 1996. He is the author of four books, The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference; Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking; Outliers: The Story of Success; and What the Dog Saw, all of which were New York Times bestsellers. Prior to joining The New Yorker, he was a reporter with the Washington Post, where he covered business and science and also served as the newspaper's New York City bureau chief. Gladwell was born in England, grew up in rural Ontario, and now lives in New York City.

Malcolm Gladwell's THE BOX SET includes a bonus feature, appears unabridged on 22 CDs, and is narrated by Gladwell himself, who does a fine job of narrating THE TIPPING POINT, BLINK, and OUTLIERS. The deluxe box set offers all three books in one easy package and is a 'must' for business and self-help collections already seeing popularity with any of the separate titles.

5.0 out of 5 stars A step UP from the regular hardcover books September 1, 2012
By Lazo V.
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I must admit I was hesitant to purchase this set. I had let a friend-of-a-friend borrow my hardcover copy of Blink...and never got it back. Gladwell's books all have a certain clean "look" to them, and this set did not appear to keep up with that appearance. As I did not own Tipping Point, I took it upon myself to order this particular box set of Gladwell books instead of picking up individual books -- I am incredibly impressed with what I received.

I do not want to downplay the quality of the typical hardcover prints of these books, as the quality is fine. But the quality of THIS set is much better, in my opinion. First of all, as the books do not have dust covers they have a nice texture to the cover. Second, these books are noticeably bigger -- while the width is simliar, these books are around an inch taller and a half-inch deeper. Third, the paper used for the book feels to be a better quality -- thicker to the touch, feeling as there is more to them (I routinely felt like I was turning multiple pages when I was only turning one). Also, in this version, you do get some drawings by Brian Rea throughout the books -- a nice addition. I happened to note that this set was printed in Italy, while the traditional hard cover books were printed in the USA (this matters to some people).

I have to say I am incredibly pleased with my purchase. If you are a fan of Malcolm Gladwell and your books are showing some wear, I would not hesitate to recommend you treat yourself to this set. They'll look great on your desk, on your book shelf, or in your hands.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Pleasant Way to Change Your Thinking February 7, 2011
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
It is boring to re-read an entire book, but not boring to hear Malcolm Gladwell repeated many times. His credibility and personality, plus his lyrical voice, make it enjoyable to listen again and again to his books. This repeat of the listening and learning process helps master his important concepts, and to isolate those which apply to your life, your relationships and your business opportunities.

This collection of Malcolm's great works is a visual marvel. The combination of Paul Sahre's design, Brian Rea's illustrations and Malcolm Gladwell's words is a true triumph. Bravo!

5.0 out of 5 stars Today's best author September 29, 2011
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I love Malcolm Gladwell. I think his writing should be standard curriculum in high school and college intro classes. Some people call it soft science, but he does a great job thinking and leaves room for you to do some of your own....

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful set June 4, 2013
By Will
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
The canvassing in the image looks kind of brownish/tan, but it's definitely a gray color. Books were a little larger than expected, but not substantially so. Quality of paper and binding is top notch, and it looks great on the bookshelf. Artwork not all that important, but adds to the class.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good, but the line drawings are ridiculous April 20, 2013
By Jackal
Format:Hardcover
Review of the special edition in hardcover

Gladwell's three first books in hardcover version in a box. The books are great (clearly five stars). Gladwell is a good writer to learn from, both in the way he is building up his story but also the language. Sometimes one is so mesmerised by his style that he gets away with a bit too much. I would love to hear more from experts regarding Gladwell's interpretation. He provides all the references which is good.

This is a good edition if you love the author. Good quality paper. The books are illustrated by totally meaningless line drawings in blue, black, and grey.

Five stars.
