Originally published in Arabic and also translated into French, Dr. Aldeeb now makes his landmark study of male and female circumcision available to an English speaking audience. Dr. Aldeeb is an advocate in the Swiss Institute of Comparative Law and a leading figure in human rights issues. This major work explores the issues of circumcision in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam from religious, legal, medical, and social perspectives. It serves as both a major reference work for the subject and a monumental statement of human rights.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best study of Circumcision!, January 11, 2003

This review is from: Male & Female Circumcision: Among Jews, Christians and Muslims Religious, Medical, Social and Legal Debate (Marco Polo Monographs, 5) (Paperback)
Dr. Sami Aldeeb Abu-Sahlieh presents the most complete study of circumcision ever written. With the fine skills of an attorney he logically deconstructs the myths and misconceptions of this ancient practice. Circumcision is a profoundly taboo subject, but this work places every aspect of the subject under close scrutiny. It is a vital study on many fronts; medical, religious, social, legal and ethical. I highly recommend it!
