In my first introduction to the art of photography of Robert Mapplethorpe, I discovered his photographic theme of nude athletic male models touching their toes. The models reach for their arches, but stop just ever so slightly creating an amazing optical illusion. So impressed was I, that I set out to photograph the theme with a wide variety of models. Amazing collection of this specialized pose... I remember seeing Mapplethorpe's original poses like these, but his modes were very specific in ethnicity and body style.Nick Baer's collection is a wide variety of models, and it is fun to see then touching their toes, and the artistic optical illusion it creates.

A fairly pricey little book, similar to others in a series of similar books by this photographer and publisher. The title says it all.
