I ordered this because I liked the contrasting stripes in the pillow shams and bed ruffles, however, what i got was everything in the same pattern. There are no stripes to be found.

The quality is also second rate, the gold color is not as bright as pictured, it is a dull brown.

It is going back.

The set has no stripes and the gold looks faded like its been washed one to many times. It dosent look at much like the picture shows. Not bad if you dont mind the dull gold look but not as bright and pretty as the picture makes it out to be.

Like the other reviews, I noticed there were no stripes as there appear to be in the picture, but it's still a lovely comforter. The design is nice, the stripes weren't important to me, so no big deal. The edges of the comforter and the shams are nicely finished with a thick burgundy cord, giving the whole set a nice edged look.

We use it on top of our regular down topper instead of using a duvet. The shams are very nice and I like the matching bed skirt. Since we're using it on top of an already thick down comforter, I purchased the California King size for our king bed, and it fits great. Overall, a great value for the price I paid.

As mentioned by the other reviewer, the design IS different than shown in the photo. The jacquard design is a solid all-over pattern, it is NOT striped as the photo shows. In our case, we actually like the solid print much more than the stripes - but be aware of this difference if you decide to order this! If it had been striped, we may not have bought it - it was the other reviewer pointing this out that decided us - we wanted solid pattern rather than stripes. And no, the gold is not a bright gold - it is a muted color, (though not 'brown' IMO) just a toned-down goldish tone - again, for us personally, we didn't want a bright metallic gold - the toned-down color is just perfect.

I didn't feel that the quality was poor. I don't think I'd consider this to be quite a $300-value comforter, but it is quite nice, in my opinion, and better quality than other comforters we have had that cost twice as much.

The comforter set we received also included a complete set of sheets, which was a pleasant surprise, as we did not expect those.

All in all, I think this is a beautiful comforter and we are very happy with ours. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it is different from the photo, therefore this item's page is misleading for customers unless/until they read the reviews & are made aware of the differences.
