Solar Accent Lights Deck Kit by Malibu are an inexpensive and Eco-friendly way of softly lighting areas around or on decks, patios, pathways, walkways and other areas that need more illumination.
With a solar accent lights deck kit, no electricity is needed and a simple wire attachment of each unit to the main panel allows for daily exposure to sunlight. The accumulated light is stored and works to charge the solar accent lights cell and recharge the battery. Solar accent lights are easy to install and can be placed anywhere within 20' of the main panel. Easy to use and adds a pleasant decorative effect and additional safety to your deck.

I was pretty excited to find this solar lights set since I wanted to illuminate the steps around my patio. I did not want to use individual solar lights because I knew that all of them could not get enough sun to charge the batteries because of their location. This set was perfect since there was one main solar panel that I could put in a place, where it would get full sun for a long time.
I decided to test it first before installing it. Although I charged the batteries that came with the unit, the lights didn't came on when I turned the on/off button regardless of the time of the day(dusk/dawn/night/...). I changed out the batteries to see if there was a problem with the charging but the lights still didn't come on even with new batteries. I didn't want to troubleshoot any further, so I just returned the whole thing.

I bought four sets of these (at a local store). Bought them mainly because there were on sale for $15. the long cord length helped greatly to space them out far enough to light my entire deck with two sets and the other two will most likely go around my fence. There's variations in the solar panel for some reason so I had to exchange one set because it was somewhat dim compared to the rest. I found the ones with the blue solar panel work better than the one with the black solar panel. So far all 4 sets tested perfectly and I am very happy with the purchase. The lights are bright enough to light a path but subtle enough to not give a harsh light. The wire can daisy chain together which helped a lot in keeping the solar panel far enough to reach a bright location.
