5.0 out of 5 stars Buy This Game
This game is 100% cool! From making stores to getting money, this game is the one. I have played this game, and it's much more than the other tycoons. People come into your mall, buy stuff, and maybe, act up a bit. So be sure to hire police. This game is so cool, and also for such a good price. Think You so much for reading this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mall Tycoon 3
I play alot of these tycoon games, this game was the lowest quality. It was just ok, not very fun. Stick with zoo tycoon or roller coaster tycoon better than this by far. It just lacked alot of the normal options that make these games entertaining. Just ok.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but could be better, August 7, 2007

The original Mall Tycoon was bad but it definately wasnt as bad as ER(the PC game). Spinning 2 sequels you would think like 18 Wheels of Steel, the game would be more polished, better graphics and not as frustrating. Everytime I play whether a sandbox mode or a scenario, I always seem to run out of money and stores closes due to not making enough money. I would like freedom to build any size store and highlight a box that my store can go to. It would be nice to make anchor stores (the large department stores that take more than 2-3 floors). The department stores in MT3 is a huge box/rectangle with more than one type of good being sold. Very disapointing. Also when you want to make a second floor, its very frustrating when you try to go one way, and all of a sudden you whole 2nd floor is made following the track of the 1st floor. Some malls have intricate 2nd floors highlighted with a box here and a rectangle there with a elaborate food court along with a Multiplex. It's time to update the graphics, take away the cartoonish style and create a tycoon game that is unique, fun to play, and allows freedom. It gets boring when you place billboards, benches, vending machines and all of them blink because they need repairs. The repairmen and the janitors need better pathfinding. Building parking lots and garages would be a nice feature especially when you see cars pull into parking spots and the multi-level garage. The addition of security cameras outside and inside would add good value as well as a security office. Nowadays malls have resturants and roads (with or without traffic lights) that seperate the parking fields.
All in all, I like this game but it doesnt have enough to keep me occupied. It's already deleted from my system and I hope #4 comes out and is impressive. Basically your in charge of building a mall with different types of flooring, walls, stores, and more. This game is so much better than Mall of America.

In the very beginning, the game is addictive!!!!!! After your mall is gynormous and you've built all the stores, the rating only goes down to a 4 star because there could have been a couple more store choices. I had enough fun to give it 5 stars. I like the graphics and how you can customize what's in and how big the store is. If you find that you always run out of money, it's just that you need to use more strategies when spending, so don't get turned down from this game because of reviews that say you run out of money too quickly.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not great, September 29, 2010

The game is okay at first, but there are a lot of annoying things about it.

The reports suck, and it's hard to figure out the best amounts to charge each store at times. Upgrading sucks because you have to click to scroll through a long list of items to figure out dependencies to get later upgrades, and then click to scroll back to the dependency to research it, and it only shows 1 item at a time.

The roaming employees (janitors, guards, etc.) are idiots. They do go out of their zones, but they do a horrible freakin job, and I'm constantly torn between hiring more when I don't have the money, or doing the very annoying pick-up and drop maneuver to get them to clean some corner that isn't covered. The mechanics are even worse -- they NEVER go out of their zone -- AT ALL! So you have to hire dozens if you place objects around the mall, which balloons your payroll... that, or just let the objects sit there broken (which, all of them break FREQUENTLY) and hope the shoppers are as dumb as the mechanics and just don't notice.

Scenario goals are too vague at times (hard to tell when it says "make $10000" whether it means have $10000 in the bank, or have a reported net or revenue of $10000.)

Creating a custom store is a terrible experience.

Attempts at building a second story and putting in shops completely ruined my store and turned my clients into zombies.... I STILL HAVE NO CLUE WHY THEY ARE ZOMBIES, WHAT THAT EVEN MEANS, OR HOW TO GET THEM UNZOMBIFIED! and at this point I just don't care... this really killed the game for me after kind of being iffy about it the whole time.

Neat idea, poorly implemented.

1.0 out of 5 stars No Fun; Poor Instructions, July 10, 2010

This wasn't fun at all. If hiring janitors & mechanics is your idea of fun, this game is for you. Instructions for doing things (like building a 2nd floor) where beyond unsatisfactory. There really weren't many interesting things to do to increase profitability. BORING.

The game is/was great before I accidentally dropped the computer, where the game was loaded on, out the window. I was basically cheering with so much joy, my knees hit the table where the notebook was on and the computer pretty much flew out of the window from the second floor of my vacation home. Before the shocker, the game plays very well and will make most people very happy. I recommend this game (just make sure your computer is secure on its table. lol)

1.0 out of 5 stars Junk program, October 19, 2010

Worst program I have ever experienced. The graphics are clunky and hard to navigate on a 2010 computer. What they were like on earlier computers must have been painful. Having worked in managment of a real mall I can honestly say the business model the game uses is unrealistic. Factors such as parking cannot be designed in and employee requirements are not realistic. leave this one alone.

I expected a totally cool mall simulator where you choose what to put out, unlimited money in sandbox mode, and awesome stuff like that. But what I got was this super hard, will-fail-with-or-without-a-loan, stores-that-quit-on-you, and a customization-my-caboose game. But other than that, it's kinda okay.

I am 13 years old and have a lot a tycoon games, zoo tycoon 2, rollercoster tycoon 3, and even school tycoon that is made by the same company and they are so fun! But I was bummed when I got this game. The game dident work and you have to 'check for updates' to get it to work unless it will just be a blank blue screen. This game dosent have sandbox mode! Sandbox mode is fun and lets you have unlimited cash. We are having a garage sale soon and I plan on selling it!!!! I do not recommend buying this game.
