"Malled" is the fourth installment in the latest reincarnation of the Hardy Boys, favorite adventure detective fiction for several generations of American grade school boys. This Hardy Boys series is in graphic novel format, with exciting art work and new storylines.
As this story opens, Frank and Joe are worried that their undercover career as agents of American Teens Against Crime (ATAC) will be shut down because of the dangers for participating teens. Frank and Joe get what might be one last assignment, to spend the night inside a brand-new mall with a small group of people, waiting for opening day. The Bayport Police Chief is already on the scene, investigating a nearly fatal accident. An automatic lockdown traps everyone inside the mall, at risk from an unknown but ruthless and highly dangerous criminal. It turns out that malls can be full of lethal traps. Frank and Joe will be hardpressed to stay alive and keep the members of their small group safe. They will get unexpected help from a surprisingly perceptive journalism student as they sort through the suspects. "Malled" is the classic closed house mystery transferred in an entertaining way to a modern shopping mall. It is highly recommended to fans of the Hardy Boys graphic novels. |
