I use this canoe carrier kit on top of my Honda Civic 2-door, and have had no complaints. I'm glad to have such a simple solution to carrying a canoe on my car. It came with everything that I needed, including straps.

This is a great starter package for anyone with a canoe. Although I recommend getting cinch or rachet straps for the front of the car/canoe instead of the ropes included, they are still a good place to start if you don't have anything. The cinch strap works great and is good quality. I also purchased other foam blocks and these are way better because they're longer (rectangular shaped) and more sturdy. They have a rubber grip pad attached if you are putting them directly onto your roof so they don't slip, and the cutouts work get to lock them in place onto any roof rack with cross bars. I highky recommend these.

I was a little reluctant going in, as I'm a "you get what you pay for" guy. I put the canoe on the roof of a Chevrolet Impala, strapped it down (there are two cinch belts in the package although the picture only shows one), tied off the front and back and hit the road. I stopped every 20 miles or so just to make sure the lines were tight. The canoe didn't move the entire trip driving at 55 mph. If I never use it again, it was well worth the money. I'll see if I can post a picture.
