TimeLife's "Malt Shop Memories" is a wonderful collection of late 50s/early 60s rock and roll and this 2-CD set is one of the 4 that you get when you order the complete set. This is a great way to collect the set one volume at a time because you save a lot of money.
The recordings are all the original hits by the original artists and the sound quality is terrific. My only qualm with the series is that while it does a good job in representing the girl group sound, beach/surf music, and doo wop, the early rock hits (Little Richard, Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, Bill Haley) are scarce.
