Look-out Himmarshee, the craziness of Hollyweird is moving into your small-town! When a big name Hollywood movie begins filming in town Mama and her girls Maddie, Marty and Mace are wrapped up in the drama of it all. Mama's the star of the show both in her own mind and on the pages of author Deborah Sharp's fourth Mace Bauer Mystery. From the dead producer found on set to the final scene, Mama fans will love her latest escapades. Mace thinks someone is intent on shutting down the production when shortly after the producers body is found shots ring out. With the help of her on-again-off-again boyfriend, Miami-cop Carlos, Mace has to find out who-dun-it before the others stars and star-struck Mama are hurt. I have loved every one of the Mama books. I didn't think another could top the last in the series, Mama Gets Hitched, but with the drama and star power of the cast of characters in Mama Sees Stars, the latest book rockets to the top of my list of favorites. Delightfully Entertaining,
This review is from: Mama Sees Stars (A Mace Bauer Mystery) (Paperback)
I just love this series. The mystery was good, but it's the relationship between Mama and her girls that I enjoy the most in this delightfully charming and character-driven series. This was the best one yet in this fun-filled and entertaining series and I look forward to the next exploits with Mama and her family.

The Mace Bauer series is very enjoyable. They are an easy and entertaining read. Reminds me a little of Stephanie Plum whereas they are always finding themselves in a "murder" situation. The relationship between the three sisters and their mother makes you want to be their friend or even and adopted sister. They have such a warm, caring, and honest relationship. Mama is a little over the top but she has her daughters back and that's the most important thing, she will dress you down and you may not even beware of it. The series is great!!!

A Star Is Born!,

This review is from: Mama Sees Stars (A Mace Bauer Mystery) (Kindle Edition)
Move over, all you America's Got Talent hopefuls.A new star's been born, and it's none of you. Hollywood has come to the small southern town of Himmarshee, Florida. Mace Bauer has been hired as animal wrangler for the movie shoot, and naturally, where Mace goes, her five-times married Mama is right behind her. Along with sisters Marty and Maddie.Mama is determined to become Hollywood royalty -- or, at the very least, to score a speaking part in the movie. What she doesn't count on is finding the murdered body of the movie's executive producer in the horse corral. With a past history like this guy's, it's a wonder he wasn't murdered years ago. Mace finds herself drawn into the murder investigation, headed by her on-again off-again love, Carlos the Police Detective. And the more she gets to know the people involved in the movie, the less she trusts most of them. Mama Sees Stars is filled with all the wacky characters and settings that fans of Deborah Sharp's delicious mystery series have come to expect. And Mama, of course, saves the day in the end. Without even mussing up her hairdo from Hair Today, Dyed Tomorrow. Reviewed for Suspense magazine by Susan Santangelo

I never knew I was a fan of cozy mysteries until I started reading Deborah Sharp's "Mama" series. Mama Sees Stars is the 4th novel in the series. After Mama Does Time, Mama Rides Shotgun and Mama Gets Hitched, I am very impressed that Ms. Sharp keeps this series fresh and interesting. The books are told from Mace's point of view. Mace is one of Mama's three daughters. Somehow, Mama steals the show in each book. And in Mama Sees Stars, she literally steals the show when the producer of a movie being filmed in the small town of Himmarshee, Florida is found shot to death. Mace seeks to solve the crime and, as usual, Mama's shenanigans bring heartache for Mace and belly-laughs for the readers. If you like a good mystery and a good laugh (and who doesn't?), I highly recommend Mama Sees Stars as well as the other books in the "Mama" series.Joanne Lewis, co-author Wicked Good Wicked Good

I have read all the 'Mama' books and have loved everyone of them. They have two things I enjoy in a read: a mystery to be solved and humor. I identify completely with the sarcasm of the main character, Mace, and love the dynamic between her and her mother and sisters.
This isn't a real 'deep' kind of book so don't read it if you're all into seriousness. This is just silly fun with a little mystery thrown into it.

The End?,

This review is from: Mama Sees Stars (A Mace Bauer Mystery) (Kindle Edition)
I have enjoyed the Mace Bauer mystery series. As the third daughter of four, and having a Mom very much like Momma, the books remind me that it's OK that we're all a little bit nuts, just as long as we love each other. At the end of the other books in the series there would be a note to look out for the next book. I truly did not like the great big, "The End" at the end of "Mamma Sees Stars." Does anyone know if further books are planned in the series? Deborah Sharp's web site does not give any information as to whether another book is planned.

Mace is working with the animals for the Hollywood movie being shot in Florida. Mama works her way into getting a small role, which of course in Mama's eyes is a starring role. Mace stumbles across a murder and the fun begins. A great number 4 in the Mama series, keep them coming.
