Book Description

February 10, 2006
My Mama was not my enemy, but rather, my lesson. Mama and Us is a Non-Fiction based upon the experiences of a very impressionable young girl, who moves into her step-grandmother's old house. She is overcome with wild, child like imaginations, of haunting ghosts and spirits, driven by the desire to escape her current reality and the need for attention. She is forced to endure hidden emotions of inadequacy, self pity, anger, jealousy, resentment and hate, especially after her mother dies, leaving her with unanswered questions. Her outlandish perception of things and wild imagination, will take one on a journey experiencing, heart-ache, death, sex and love, while embracing emotional highs and lows surrounding a sadistic step-father and a resentful, alcoholic mother, who makes for raising five girls and two boys, an impossible voyage.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read!, March 4, 2006
This review is from: Mama and Us: Why I Couldn't Love My Mama (Paperback)
To better know yourself is to be able to embrace your past and then be brave enough to share your real experiences of love and lost, so that you might help others. This is a must read for anyone who may not have experienced the ideal realationship with a parent. With great conviction and honesty, the tragic tale of a small girl, trying desperately to over come, unbenounced feelings of anger, jealousy, hate and self pity are reborn. Fueled by an acoholic mother's lack of love and compassion and a step father's sexual advances, a life unfolds and proves to be self healing, in process. I share the memories and experiences with the reader so that he/she will know that there can be victory and self healing in tragedy.
