I've got what may be the BEST review scenario for this chair: The Diaper Blowout!!! Roughly 1 hour ago, my husband and I were enjoying dinner while our 7 month old sat nearby in his Mamas & Papas Juice Highchair playing with some toys. I was in the middle of a sentence when I noticed my son had that glassy eyed, far away look on his face. Before I could comment on the expression to my unsuspecting hubs, BAM, Mount St. Helens erupted in my son's diaper. Being the mature adults we are, the hubs and I proceeded to giggle and make poop jokes at our son's expense...until we noticed the poo lava fiercely flowing from his nether regions! Forks and knives went down and we sprung into action; hubs grabbed the baby, and I managed highchair damage control.

It was INCREDIBLY easy to remove the green padded seat portion from the rest of the seat and carry it over to the sink. Once there, I popped the straps out (a 10 second process) and dropped them over in the washing machine. After taking a hand towel and sanitizer to the chair (1-2 mins of scrubbing), I returned to the green pad, running it under the faucet, spraying with sanitizer, and wiping it down with another towel. The whole process took less than 5 mins and we were able to sit back down and finish our meal while it was still warm, which is a "WIN" in the world of parenting. At this point, the chair is completely reassembled with the exception of the straps. They are lying on the chair's tray "drying" while I write this review and enjoy a much deserved girl scout cookie.

Some parents have commented on the difficulty they've had cleaning this chair, but as I've just survived my kid's homage to the BP Oil Spill, Im gonna have to say cleaning it was not an issue for me.

We owned the Fisher Price Space Saver high chair when our son was born and quickly realized it was terrible. The tray was huge and clunky and his fingers got caught regularly, it was hard to clean the straps, and there were tons of crevasses for food to get trapped in. Plus, let's be honest--it was ugly sitting in our kitchen. So, we went in search of a nicer chair.

I drooled over the Oxo Tot Sprout and Boon Flair chairs, but just could not justify the price. I settled on the Mamas & Papas Juice high chair in black and have been very happy.

Pros:
-Great style--blends in with our decor and isn't obnoxious
-Easy to clean--all straps can pop off, even the crotch strap, and be thrown in the wash. They come clean beautifully. The plastic and seat pad can be wiped down with a sponge.
-Great size tray--it's small enough to fit in the dishwasher, but big enough for my kid to eat off of comfortably.
-Sturdy--doesn't tip over, even when our rowdy dog jumps up on it.
-Love that it will convert to a toddler chair in the future.
-The locking mechanism on the tray is internal, so there's less of a worry of pinched fingers now.

Cons:
-Straps are very loose. My son is average sized and 9 months old now, and they are still loose around the shoulders on him.
-Tray seems far away from him and it was a bit difficult for him to reach food until recently.
-Large "footprint"--the legs of the chair are very wide, which makes it sturdy, but it is easy to trip over.

I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it.

I got this chair because it seemed to be functional and I wanted a chair that grew with my child; I was terribly mistaken.

The first issue I had with this chair is that the tray is not adjustable and you cannot slide it closer or further away from your baby. Because of this, there is a large gap between the stomach and the actual tray. So much so, that my son would eat with his hands and immediately put all of his food in his lap. If the tray was closer, he would not be able to put his hands down so easily.
Second issue: I thought the foam insert would be so easy to clean. Again, I was mistaken. The seam where the insert and frame meet is like the Bermuda Triangle of food and liquid. Even after one day, the amount of food that makes it's way underneath is ridiculous. And believe me when I say it is disgusting if you don't clean it after almost every meal every day. Who has time for that?
Third Issue: The straps were made for a gigantic man-baby. Enough said.

Overall, I wish I had chosen a high chair based on function instead of looks. If I had, this high chair would be at the bottom of the list.

We tried to love this high chair because of all the amazing reviews, but it just wasn't for us. The plastic is very cheap and flimsy and the legs of the high chair were slightly off making the chair rock slightly and not stand sturdy at all. We tried adjusting it many times but it would still rock. With the quality of this chair, I think it should cost about $50, not $150. For $150 we expected something of much high quality and were very disappointed. Also, trying to move this high chair was very hard. The legs stick out all over the place and while trying to carry my 8 month old it just got really old. This chair is NOT meant to be moved. (we'd sit him in it while working on projects in the house or while watching TV and with the constant moving of the chair, the legs seemed to get even more flimsy.) We predict this chair would last about 6 months or less before breaking so we decided to return it for something of higher quality materials and something that could move easily from room to room, and something I could move while holding my baby. Also, this chair is very low for a high chair. It barely reaches the height of our standard table.
