Mame, an American tradition, is coming back! You need to order your copy BEFORE it becomes popular again; for, this next fall it will air on ABC with Babera Streisand in the title roll. This is the full score...ALL the main songs, incidental music, exit music, scene change music, overature, entr'acte, curtain call music, and a lot more are PACKED in this one little book. Fun and challenging to play on the keyboard (keys range from Gb-C major!), or BUY THE CD TO GO WITH IT, AND FOLLOW ALONG. Very fine book!

the music of mame is as relevant today with the current economic problems as it was when it was set.the lyrics which are optimistic are fresh and delightful.there are humourous numbers and bosum buddies is a show stopper.as an example why dont you let your hair be natural the reply if i had natural hair like yours i would be bald.
there are also meaningful songs the boy sings my best girl to mame a love song for anyone being cared for by a relative or friend.she in turn laments in where is that boy with the bugle.surely the song of all parents and carers with problems.
one of the problems of the play which is reflected in the score is that the love story of mame and beauregard does not feature enough either in the play or the score.it needed a great duet between them.it also needed a choral number in the second act perhaps involving the upson family.
