The cookie jar we were given for a wedding present nearly 20 years ago broke recently, and I spent an embarrassing amount of time searching for the perfect replacement. My kids love to check the cookie jar after school, and I wanted a container that would look beautiful, be functional, and hold up for another 20 years. This is what I was looking for. I read the reviews and wondered if the jar size or lack of a seal would be a problem, but I think it's great. I baked 30 large cookies today that fit perfectly. In terms of the lack of a seal, cookies don't stay around here for long enough for this to be an issue. If I wanted to keep cookies for a week, or even several days, I may put some in an air tight container instead, but with a bunch of teenagers in the house, cookies only last a day or two. I have this on shelves with my Le Crueset dutch ovens and some Fiesta serving bowls and the colors all complement beautifully.

This is a beautiful jar but there is no seal on the lid. It will not store well dry stuff as it is not sealed so find another Jar for your cookies. otherwise it is a good purchase.

To give my recently updated kitchen some drama, I decided to accessorize in red and black. I love having a cookie jar sitting on my counter. I went on search for a red jar every time I went shopping. No such thing out there so I paid Amazon a visit where I found this great jar. The color is a brick red and a perfect size for a batch of cookies. I know this jar comes in other colors. If you are looking for a great cookie jar I would definitely recommend this one.
