I consider this to be an interesting and strong collection, an advance on the first best new manga book. A wide variety of work from creators all over the globe, including Japanese. This shows the great vitality of young creators working in styles influenced by manga. Its a very reasonabe price too, for such a big book

This book is just awful. Essentially made up of amateur and semi-pro webcomics that the "Mammoth" folks could pick up for a song. Not at all worth your time. If you want a cheap anthology, check out 'The Mammoth Book of Best War Comics' by the same publisher. Granted, it's not manga, but it is filled with quality stories, including Keiji Nakazawa's 'I Saw It,' the...

If you want a cheap anthology, check out 'The Mammoth Book of Best War Comics' by the same publisher. Granted, it's not manga, but it is filled with quality stories, including Keiji Nakazawa's 'I Saw It,' the precursor to manga legend Barefoot Gen.
