I was born with a writing obsession. It got worse once I actually learned HOW to write. There's no treatment for it. I live in South England with my husband and a back garden full of free-loading birds. Every winter they eat me out of house and home, then every year, they bring the kids back for summer hols, and I feel like a godmother.
I walk my stories. Sometimes it takes miles to walk a story. Last summer I walked half a novel all the way across Devon. For me, inspiration is directly proportionate to how quickly I can wear out a pair of walking boots.
