Great finish to a 3 box set series,

This review is from: Man To Man (4CD) (Audio CD)
The third (and final) set in UM/Hip-O 's Bob Marley box set series containing every known track from 1966 to 1972.
The first 2 were Grooving Kingston 12 and Fy-ah Fy-ah. Excellent and essential.

good stuff,
This review is from: Man To Man (4CD) (Audio CD)
This collection is expensive but well worth the money if your into some unheard tracks. There are all kinds of alternates, but some of these cuts have one or two words altered and aren't really different from what you've heard. Discs 1-3 have some alternates, rare tracks and all the dub versions. Disc 4 is a gem because it does contain rare mixes and two 12" tracks that scratch puts through the echo chamber with royal ark treatment!
Check it out if your into Bob or hunt for a few rare Perry tracks. Another collection to check out is the complete Bob Marley/Upsetter collection on Trojan, 6 discs.

For the Aficionado,
This review is from: Man To Man (4CD) (Audio CD)
As a big fan of the Wailers' music, and 70's Jamaican music in general, this new release caught my eye. Offered on Amazon.com at a substantial discount, and with an additional gift certificate in hand, I was able to purchase approximately 100 *obscure* Bob Marley, and Bob Marley related, tracks for only a few bucks!
Before making this purchase, please note the emphasis on the word "obscure". This is collection of demos, dubs, single releases of quality ranging from dull and formulaic to really quite good. Although this band went through several incarnations and the sound evolved over a number of years, the material in this collection mainly predates the innovative style that put the Wailers on the map internationally. I recommend this collection for history buffs and true aficionados of the early Reggae music scene.
