Editorial Reviews

25 years of U.D.O. is the perfect occasion for AFM RECORDS to re-release the whole back catalogue! It starts with the classics Solid (1997), No Limits (1998), Holy (1999) & Man And Machine (2002). All albums include bonus tracks and a revised layout - for fans and collectors. Several have been out of print and are highly demanded by the fans.

I just got the new U.D.O. album "Man And Machine" and I think it [rocks]!
You either love or hate the voice of the former Accept front man, as he definitely sounds like no other, but I love it. I am a long time Accept/U.D.O. fan so was well pleased with Man And Machine. It has copped some criticism for sounding too much like old Accept style "Balls To The Wall" music, but that is what pleases me. With Stephan Kaufmann on guitar also, how can it not sound like Accept?
Highlights are "Animal Instinct", "Dawn Of The Gods", "Like A Lion", "Silent Cry" and "Dancing With An Angel" is an interesting duet with Doro Pesch.
Heavy & powerful with great guitar work, pumping drums & bass, and Udo Dirkschneider screaming as well as ever this album is a must for any U.D.O. or Accept fan.

UDO, former Accept frontman still has it. This 2002 release shows why he's considered a pioneer of the Heavy Metal movement. UDO himself proclaims that U.D.O is basically what accept would sound like today, and thats not disappointing as this album doesnt slow down from beginning to end. The title track sets the mood for the whole album theme as every song has a very updated modern hook to it but still has that unmistakable UDO wail that takes you back to the Restless and Wild days. the best tracks --> Hard to be Honest, Silent Cry, Private eye. If you are a fan of the Older Accept, This album wont disapoint as UDO doesnt seem to have lost a step, and if your'e new to this artist , then its a worthy album as its leading Heavy Metal in the right direction. UP THE IRONS

Well, it looks like the band has done it again. They have made another metal masterpiece. Production is superb. Drums sound great. Killer guitar tones. Huge bass sound. (Steven, will you come produce my band?) Songs are very well crafted and the talents of these guys are showcased at the right times. If you are a fan, get this new one. You will not be sorry.

UDO carries on what Accept could not.
If you've heard the other albums, you know what to expect.

This was the last CD I needed.
It arrived from Belgium.

ROCKING OUT DUDE!!!

Well, it looks like UDO has done it again. This album is a very rocking album. The opening track of "Man And Machine" is a very brilliantly done album. All the tracks that are on here are songs that could be done live with no problems and done very well. The song contains a duet with fellow German singer, Doro Pesch, from Warlock. The song is a mellow song but very nicely done which could also be done live. The feel of the cd is that of classic metal, just like the past few UDO efforts. I can't think of what to say that could have been better done, so let me just talk about what is right with it. The production effort, done by Stefan Kauffman (guitarist and former bandmate from Accept) does what one might say as a superb job. The guitar work on this album is familiar to the olden days of Metal, none of that bassy feel, but those high pitched sounds. To me classic metal contains real guitar work, and there isn't too much of that left unless you get into the old school groups, and thanks to UDO, it is still around. If you are looking for old school sound with great lyrics with meaning that fits todays feel then this is a cd to have.

With a line-up featuring Igor Gianola and Stefan Kaufmann on guitars, Fitty Weinhold on bass and Lorenzo Milani on drums, U.D.O. has found his best line up ever, and it's prepared to new levels of efficiency and successfull recording. This MAN AND MACHINE is a very solid album, superbly produced by Kaufmann, and it really is all about Accept's kind of heavy metal. But you will not have a feeling of "I've heard this before" listening to this album. Although the trademark is there, the songs are fresh and good by itself.

brilliant release from the german quintet yet again. has the udo trademark sound that all fans will love. and i suspect the reason they sell so many albums is because people know what they wil get with every release, that is the trademark u.d.o./accept style of metal that has influenced a generation of bands and fans. keep it up boys, up the irons
