5.0 out of 5 stars My Sirius radio subscription has officially paid for itself in pure enjoyment., April 23, 2010

What a joyous, shout out loud, then take it down and brood for a minute, then start bein' happy again because that's just the best choice to make cd! From "Diddley Bo" (which makes me want to grab a 2x4 and some wire RIGHT NOW) to "Seasick Boogie" - everything in SS's music is near perfect. I don't pretend to be a blues know-it-all, or even know-it-some, but there's just something about the production, the riffs, the humor, and the raw energy that comes together to make this the cd that I have in constant rotation for the forseeable future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Seasick Boogie, November 26, 2010

Why have we let Seasick Steve fall through the cracks. Holy crap this guy is great!
He can get more music out of one string or a busted up 6 string with 3 strings missing than most guitarists get out of 12 strings! He is a great blues and folk artist and a great story teller. We need to get him state side and put him on a pedestal! All hail Seasick Steve! Watch his "Doghouse Boogie" video. I repeat my earlier rant-HOLY CRAP!

5.0 out of 5 stars Man from another Wold, October 10, 2010

Seasick Steve is not only a man form another time, he truly is a man from another world... another world not heard from enough. I was actually "turned on" to this guy by an exchange student from England. OK, so I don't get satellite radio... but if you love Americana roots aka blues, old timey music from the "holler" with a pugged in flare from home made instruments, this belongs in your collection. Steve's latest enjoys a spot in my collection between Derek Trucks and Levon Helm, and he occasionally snuggles up to some Rory Block. On top of his nitty gritty picking, his lyrics will have you listening, laughing, and loving this this guy. Play it loud, play it often and enjoy with a tall glass of Knob Creek.
And turn YOUR friends on to him...

Another great CD from Seasick Steve. If you are a fan, a must to add to your collection. We wished he'd come to the US more often.

4.0 out of 5 stars Steeped in blues with a healthy portion of roots, June 9, 2010
This review is from: Man From Another Time (Audio CD)
The title "Man from Another Time" pretty much sums up the story Seasick Steve (aka Steve Wold), the vagabond guitarist and singer who has apparently been drifting across the globe as musical tumbleweed for some time yet his music is pretty much steeped in the blues with more than a healthy portion of roots or Americana for seasons.

This collection of dark, raw sounding, stripped down tunes---recorded using analog technology---sounds best with the volume turned up and expectations set aside. Mr. Wold plays all manner of stringed instruments, and the songs featuring his sole accompanist, drummer Dan Magasson, hold their own with any of the guitar-drum duos that are all the rage these days.
