This album features eight originals sung by Johnny Cash in German, plus two in Spanish. The CD also contains a duet with Shel Silverstein and Cash ('A Front Row Seat To Hear Ole Johnny Sing'), and the remaining titles are from German artists with their own German versions of Cash songs, including 11 songs performed by Gunter Gabriel and one song each from Bruce Low, Kurt Stelly, Jurgen Huerbst, Donald Wolf and Ralf Bendix.

Never knew that Johnny Cash recorded some of his material in German. The first 11 tracks are German covers by Gunter Gabriel. Tracks 13 through 21 are Johnny Cash. Most of these were recorded in the 60's and 70's. El Matador was made in 1995. The final tracks are other singers. This is a fine collection; a good find for a collector or German speaker. There's a lot of good material on this set that makes it worthwhile. Excellent liner notes.

If you are a Johnny Cash fan or someone who enjoys a little German lingo, you'll probally like this. There are a few songs sung by Cash in German and they are easy to understand. However, there are more songs sung by German singers wanting to be like Cash. I would have preferred more songs performed by Cash.

As a German speaker, I found this album to be entertaining. Hearing Johnny Cash singing in German was very interesting, too say the least. Most of the songs are by the other singer (a german "country" singer") but, in my opinion, Cash's contribution is well worth the price.
