The Man in the Black Top Hat,
This review is from: The Man in the Black Top Hat (Paperback)
This is a paranormal story, which is like none I have read before. The author took you into the heroine's home and her family life prior to her meeting the ghost. The details on just how Syria came to be targeted by the ghost was so unexpected, I just got sucked into the story and could not put the book down until I had read the entire thing. The way the ghost was taking over her life was scary. The ghost even invaded her in the bathroom. I am no longer closing my door when I step into my shower, that how scary the book was. I tried to imagine myself in similar circumstances, and I would break out in a cold sweat. But I found the ghost determination to control Syria with his mind-blowing sex, just like a man. Unfortunately, he did not take into account the power of the love between these two people. I liked the love scenes between Syria and her husband. It was touching and heart-warming. This is a great ghost story.

Wonderfully Original,
This review is from: The Man in the Black Top Hat (Paperback)
It's hard to go wrong with an erotic ghost story. After all, it has two things that I love and that's ghosts and sex. I got both of those along with a great storyline that keeps you interested from start to finish. I really love the way everything is set up and how everything happens. Considering how much I loved the author's other work it wasn't a surprise that I loved this one too.

Like it!,
This review is from: The Man in the Black Top Hat (Paperback)
I was a little skeptical at first being this was not a typical book that I would read for ghost stories, but once I got into the book, I couldn't put it down. The obsessive behaviour of the "unwanted guest" was just wow!! - I was torn between the idea of the activities of said ghost being fun or being down right exhausting. The story kept you going and wanting more. I think the author has found a "niche" for the paranormal and should do more of them as well as persue her other tales. Good Luck and keep them coming.

Wow, Wow, Wow,

The title, The Man in The Top Black Hat, does not in any way prepare you for the activities, and obsessive behavior of the ghost that Syria Warrington, unwittingly brought into her home. The ghost appeared to have been on a mission to make Syria so sexually addicted to him, that she would leave her husband, John for him. He had underestimated the power of love. That's what I believe ultimately saved this family. This book has everything, suspense, mystery, ghost and sex, and it was a quick read, which I enjoyed immensely.

Surprising Twist,
This review is from: The Man in the Black Top Hat (Paperback)
The Man in The Black Top Hat is a surprising twist on the typical paranormal book out there. The book moves at a fast pace, and the sexual interludes are quite a surprising and welcomed twist. Ju Ephraime does a terrific job at making this story quite believable, unlike many novels in this genre, and the plot has you eager to turn the page and find out what happens next. You could almost feel sorry for Syria's plight, but then you remember all the incredible pleasure she experienced at the hands (literally) of her mysterious intruder. Bravo Ju, on a successful entrance into the paranormal genre. If The Man in the Black Top Hat is any indication of what we can expect from Ju, I am eager to see what "White Magic Woman" delivers.

Terrifyingly Sexy,
This review is from: The Man in the Black Top Hat (Paperback)
I bought this book for $0.99, and it was worth every penny and more. I loved it. The book is written in the first person and it was very easy for me to imagine myself in the role of the heroine, Syria Warrington. Incidentally, the name suited her, it made the entire story believable, somehow. I got so caught up in the happenings in that house that I could have sworn I could hear footsteps coming up the stairs to my room. I actually found myself asking, "is anybody there?" This showed the mastery of the author to make the scenes so vividly believable. The sex scenes between the ghost and Syria was beyond imagination. I also enjoyed her interactions with her husband, John, although, he did not play such a vivid role as the ghost. Excellent first try!!!

Steamy!!!,
This review is from: The Man in the Black Top Hat (Kindle Edition)
This is my first paranormal book and I only bought it because I loved the previous books by this author, so when I saw this one at $0.99, I couldn't resist. Now about the book ...This book has everything ... Sex, love and family. It's about a family in Connecticut, and the way mother, Syria, unwittingly brought a ghost into her home. You get to know a bit about Syria the main character in the book, before she met the ghost. The ghost wants to take over her life, and began visiting her every night. In the beginning, Syria thought she was having erotic dreams, but then gradually, the nature of the encounters changed, and it became sexually obsessive. Syria's struggle to maintain some semblance of normalcy, while she went through this traumatic experience is to be admired. The story moves along at a quick pace, and I found myself caught up in it. I was a bit surprised to read how she disposed of the ghost, but I don't want to give it all away. |
