4.0 out of 5 stars Art by Committee
For a project that was truly written "on spec", the origin of the "Man of Bronze" story hangs together quite well three generations later. Some of the devices are a little creaky--like the movie serials, there are few too many fist fights--but the adventures of this "Fab 5" are a testament to the optimism of the age in which they were written.

2.0 out of 5 stars Interesting story, terribly dialogue
To be honest, I thought "Man of Bronze" was a pretty rough read. The narrative style was interesting and I found myself enjoying how over-the-top and ridiculous it was, but the dialogue was painful.

The story itself was a lot of fun. I'll probably read one more to give the series another shot, but I'm not sure it's something I'd ever recommend to anyone.

The writing is not what I expected. I think this is more serial writing where the author has to churn out X number of words per week. That being said it also may have to do with the time period and that Doc is one of the first action heroes. I am still not finished but I will probably try another book or two.
