a missed opportunity,

sammy davis Jr. offered one of the screen's most riviting performces for the 1960's. Mr. Davis' acting is multi-dimensional and certainly worthy of an oscar nomination--which
he didn't get. at the time of the film's original release--on screen love scenes between a black man & woman were taboo. because the film also dealt with the corrupt music business at the time--it also earned the animous of the critics. american arts and letters missed an opportunity in not giving credit where credit was due.
