About the Artist

Conehead Buddha has been gracing the east coast with great original music since 1993. Blending various styles from rock, to Latin funk and ska, they have truly defied the boredom arrived from listening to bands whose songs all start to sound the same. When playing live, the band often opens up the songs to spontaneous improvs, giving them much credibility in the jam/groove scene.

Due to the ever increasing demand for live show recordings, the band decided to record a live album. "The Man With The Hat" was recorded over three days in 1997 at a small club in Albany, NY called Valentine's. At the time however, due to a heavy touring schedule, the album was never actually mixed untill almost a year later. The album contains 7 songs that still have never been recorded on a studio album.

This CD is one of the best that Conehead Buddha has put out. It's a great mix of ska and jazz. Those of you who like the squirrel nut zippers should try this one out. Conehead Buddha has really been climbing mountains when it comes to making it in the music bus. as far as I'm concerned. They started as a small band from New Baltimore, NY. They are now making it onto the bigger scene. After you buy this I sugggest going to see them live. ....
