About the Author
Michael Archer first met Senator Bill Raggio in 2003 while working as a senate staff member with the Nevada State Legislature. During the nearly three years it required to research and write A Man of His Word, Senator Raggio provided the author with over 50 hours of interviews as well as access to a lifetime of personal records. In addition, the author conducted scores of interviews with those who knew Raggio during the course of his nearly 60 years of public service. Archer's first book, A Patch of Ground: Khe Sanh Remembered, is an acclaimed first-person account of the infamous seventy-seven-day communist siege of the U.S. Marine base at Khe Sanh, Vietnam in 1968.
Michael Archer resides in Reno Nevada.
