In all selections, Peggy Lee's singing sounds warmer and more intimate than ever before or since in her entire recording career. The magnetic appeal of her voice is enhanced by a large string and woodwind orchestra conducted by Frank Sinatra who in backing Peggy Lee shows his skill in understanding a singer's requirements. The arrangements by the great Nelson Riddle are among the finest he has written. This is the first time these songs have been on CD in the U.S. along with bonus tracks that have never been issued on CD.

"The Folks Who Live On The Hill" is one of the most heartfelt performances I've ever heard, and Ms. Lee provides an album full of other excellent renditions here, too, all backed with masterful Nelson Riddle arrangements conducted by Frank Sinatra. If you're in the mood for beautiful ballads, you can't go wrong with this great album.
