5.0 out of 5 stars Great advice, easy read
I give this book 5 stars because it was so easy for me to read (I have a really short attention span) and easy for me to grasp the excellent advice Ms. Miller dished out. If you're not careful, you may think the author is a little brash in her advice giving. But each chapter is very short (no more than 2-3 pages average) and blunt and to the point. She smartly sums up...

3.0 out of 5 stars Brutal Honesty
Miller gives dating advice to that is harsh but honest. I agree with many of the concepts. She talks about bad boys and the misery they cause, how to spot a dog, a creep or a wimp. She also talks about the alarming tendency of women accepting treatment as a "ho". She also talks about acting like you don't care and using your boobs to attract a man. Not the most fun...

She smartly sums up each chapter with 2-3 bulleted point short sentences. No long, drawn out explanations about crap we already know. She is like the girlfriend that fusses at you when you tell her something stupid you did in your dating life. This book is a nice self-esteem booster, especially if you are struggling a little bit in dealing with guys you are dating. I am giving this book out as gifts.

5.0 out of 5 stars The only dating book that really works!, August 20, 2006

Right away, after following just a few of the tips from Romy Miller I was getting men stuffing phone numbers in my hand, men turning to look at me and asking me out...and I didn't even need to say a word. She basically puts very simple and powerful information in your hands to have men chasing after you. I can't imagine ever needing to read another book on dating again. Within 48 hours of finishing the book a man I knew and was crazy about from a year ago showed up, approached me and asked me out. Crazy coincidence maybe, but I can't recommend the book highly enough. It worked for me and I just know now it is the women who have all the power and men should be chasing us! Good luck to y'all. This book is the bible on attracting men's attention and having them want you. Thank you, Romy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really BEST! dating book!!!, November 4, 2006
This review is from: Man Magnet: How to Be the Best Woman You Can Be in Order to Get the Best Man (Paperback)
I've read quite a number of dating advice books, like Why men love/marry bitches, the dating rules, etc. I found this book really really gives me the right attitude and the power I want. While the "Why men" series get me being too aggressive and not being myself (which is a bit uncomfortable to me), this book really says dating tips best, and I know it works this time. I just finished this book, and I know I am going to change and be a lot more comfortble out there, and I am SELF-CONFIDENT NOW!!! I know I am going to be great! Really thanks!!! I highly recommend this book. It's really really a nice gift.

Not the most fun book to read because sometimes I felt like the author was standing over the reader shaking a finger in her face. But if you can take her brutal approach, there are many ideas which can benefit you.

4.0 out of 5 stars It is a useful book for gaining self-confidence and understanding towards dating, September 13, 2007

This book is all about following the basic and original dating rules without changing who you really are. It has reminded me of following my heart and instinct. I would read it often when I feel confused about dating. However, there are some grammar mistakes which I think should be avoided. Anyway, it is worth buying and reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clear, succint, no nonsense reminder of common sense knowledge, June 6, 2009
This review is from: Man Magnet: How to Be the Best Woman You Can Be in Order to Get the Best Man (Paperback)
This book is very thin, but very loaded with helpful information. It isn't anything brand new or anything that hadn't been said or experienced or told otherwise but that exactly is a good thing about it. Very life-tested and very true points, collected together in systematic way.

4.0 out of 5 stars mostly good advice, BUT..., February 6, 2009

This review is from: Man Magnet: How to Be the Best Woman You Can Be in Order to Get the Best Man (Paperback)
I liked this book. It had some really solid advice--stuff that my mother's been telling me for years, but I had to learn the hard way. I made most of the mistakes listed in the book like chasing after a guy, talking too much about my ex-boyfriend, getting intimate way to early, hanging onto one jerk after another, and expecting a committed relationship right away. I probably scared off a few of the good men that way. Now I know better.

Here's the big "BUT": I thing the author is doing women a complete disservice by telling them that when they are searching for a man, "they should wear a nice outfit," which includes a pair of stiletto heels and showing some cleavage. My eyes nearly popped out of my head when I read this. Dressing like that does not make a woman appear confident, it makes her look desperate or cheap. (Stilettos are called "come you know what me shoes" for a reason.) Not to mention that most women cannot walk in them. Don't dress in a way that will make you feel uncomfortable in any way. If you're uncomfortable showing some cleavage, don't! I am extremely uncomfortable about it--because all men, especially the ones that you DON'T want are going to be staring at you too. Most women I know get upset when a guy looks at their chest rather than their face, so you're just asking for it when you show too much. It's one thing to show it to everybody, it's quite another to share it with that one special person, after you get to know them for a while. We have enough bimbos on television dressing like that for everyone to see, and even though men think it's "eye candy", they don't respect the women very much.

On top of this, I live in a small college town, and if I dressed like that, people would either think I was desperate or trying to look like I'm a 21 year-old college student, and I'm 44. So number one, yes, look your best (you can look fantastic without those ankle breakers and showing cleavage), and dress in a way that makes you feel confident, but don't dress to look cheap, and don't do anything that you don't feel comfortable with just to get a man.

Good read. Author talks about some good points that you can immediately implement. I'd recommend it for any woman who wants to get more dates and attention for men.

I just finished reading this book and it is full of practical advice most I agree with. Like this book says it is all about confidence and liking who you are and making the best of yourself. I plan on reading it again

As with all these types of books you take what you want and leave the rest. I thought this gave some excellent validation to some of those "best woman" ideas that sometimes get lost when we get tangled in an emotional web. I don't know about it being the criteria for getting the best man but it sure reinforced the best woman that I had somewhat forgotten about
