This is a great book for children. It can interest your child in space travel, astronauts or the moon. Suen easily explains the first landing on the moon that is understandable for children. Children learn the names of the first three astronauts that were on the flight and other information that can be useful to them. The illustrations complement the text on every page. The Author's Note is an added extra. A must share/buy for anyone who remembers when man landed on the moon.

This is a lovely book. The text is at once poetic and informative, and the illustrations just pull you in. I liked the author's note at the end, too, explaining her connection to the moon landing.

As for the negative review of this book: You really can't blame a picture book for your own lack of prior planning.

My son is in love with this book. It is always at the top of our to-be read pile before bed. The only problem: He now wants to go to the moon.

I'm thrilled to know "Man on the Moon" is still in print. I teach a picture book writing course through UCLA Extension, and am always looking for examples of strong nonfiction picture books.

This book is a true classic about a very important time in American history. It's written by a woman who's father worked for NASA and remembers the day when the first man walked on the moon. I give this book five stars!

Anastasia Suen's language in this book is just lovely, and very age-appropriate for young space fans. The Author's Note about growing up on the Space Coast reminded me of my own childhood near Cape Canaveral watching the shuttles launch, and how those experiences have fueled my interest in the space program today. This book would be a great addition to any home or classroom library for young readers -- it's a great introduction to one of the most amazing adventures in human history.

This is a wonderful book for young people. It's both interesting and informative. Kids are sure to love it - all in all, it's a great choice.

My first grade students loved this book. Every year it was a favorite because it was both informative and entertaining.

I was about to send you a letter asking WHO approved this "so called" book. It could have been put together
by a five year old, just clipping newspaper headlines. I purchased three of them to use in my briefing on
SPACE to 2nd and 3rd graders. They knew much more about the moon landing than was in this book (for
$6. or $7. bucks) Doesn't anyone in your organization review these things ? It is not so much about the
money, as it was about my embarrassment, and the time spent gathering some REAL material at the last
minute. This is too serious a historical event to be given such a sloppy, inane excuse for a book... Get a
better reviewer, PUULLLEEEZ. Ann Dickson
