5.0 out of 5 stars excellent presentation for both children and adults, May 23, 2003

This review is from: The Man from Nazareth (Spiral-bound)
This book made a great addittion to our Sunday morning worship service. It is meant to be used every Sunday from Advent to Easter. The readings are very dramatic. Most take less than five minutes to preform and involve four people or less. You don't need to spend a lot of time with costumes or rehearsal. All you need is a few people who can read with just a bit of drama.
This book has all the bible characters you would expect to find in the Christmas and Easter stories, But also includes some lesser known characters: women waiting in the courtyard (because they weren't allowed in the synagogue), a 10 year old boy who tells his side of the feeding of the multitude. Roman officers and Pilate's Wife. All of these poeple have something to say about Jesus and his life from their eyes. (First hand accounts of the times.)
This book starts with Gabriel's visit to Mary. Then there's "Joseph's Dilemma". We hear from the shepherds and wisemen. I especially like how the wisemen appear in two scenes; first they must ask for financing. Then they traveled to Herod's court. One of the most moving drama's in this book was when Jesus was lost. . . you're there with Mary and Joseph as they franticly search for "their son"! During this brief preformance there were truly tears shed in anguish (we could feel Mary's pain). The congregation was talking about several scenes weeks after the preformance.
I can hardly wait for Advent to begin so that we can use this book again!! By the way this book includes permission to reproduce for preformances.
