The sound of the era,

This review is from: I'm A Man (New Edit Remastered Version) (MP3 Download)
This song somehow captures the best of the less technical, more visceral Chicago sound I really enjoyed back in the early 70s. There is a lot of funk going on with a decidedly muscular feel. Peter Cetera has yet to take the spot light sharing vocals with the other singers with a lower vocal register.I like the rhythmic intro and mid-song drum solo with timbale, glocks, tamborine, shaker, etc. It definitely epitomizes the best of the era. It ends with a great improvisational guitar solo. This is the 5:42 new edit, remastered version. It sounds great digital. |
