This was the message which came through at the international workshop which was the basis for this publication. Advances in the research on the cytogenetics and pathogenesis of the disease are presented, and the effects of therapy on fertility and the endocrine function of the testis are described. A major topic at the conference was the risk of bilateral disease, which is an important feature of testicular cancer.
