wonderful, practical advice for parents and teachers, September 1, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Management of Children and Adolescents With Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (Paperback)
This book is so helpful to a parent who is trying to make some sense of the overdiagnosed "disorder" of ADHD. This book helps parents and teachers, anyone concerned w/ the education and welfare of kids, understand and deal with these children. The authors stress the importance of diagnosis by a qualified professional w/ experience in this area first. Then, there are practical, useful ideas in how to decide on medication, how to approach teachers, how to help w/ homework and communication in the classroom, how to deal with behaviors, etc. The book would be good for a support group for parents with children w/ ADHD to read and review together. Dr. Friedman made a caring and careful diagnosis of my son, and so I happen to believe that he has much information to help parents. Thank you.
